Aluminum forgings are high-strength components shaped by applying compressive forces to heated aluminum, typically at 370°C to 480°C. At Southwest Aluminium (Kunshan) Co., Ltd, we’ve produced forgings like 7075 rings since 2012, serving industries from aerospace to electronics. But what exactly defines these critical parts?
Forging refines aluminum’s grain structure, enhancing its mechanical properties. Unlike casting, which can introduce porosity, forging creates dense, defect-free parts with superior strength—7075-T6 forgings achieve 570 MPa tensile strength. The process involves pressing aluminum billets into dies using hammers or presses, ranging from 630 to 10,000 tons at our facility, to form shapes like rings, discs, or bars.
Southwest Aluminium(Kunshan)’s forgings meet AMS 4126 and ASTM B247 standards, ensuring reliability for distributors supplying machining factories in the EU and Middle East. Our 70,000-ton annual capacity supports bulk orders, while custom designs cater to unique needs, such as precision aerospace components. With ISO 9001 certification and SGS testing, quality is assured.
Forgings stand out for their lightweight yet robust nature, making them ideal for applications where performance is non-negotiable. From drone frames to wind turbine hubs, aluminum forgings are the backbone of modern engineering, delivering strength without the weight.
